Every portrait experience at Burton Photography begins long before we ever pick up a camera. Here's how we make it effortless for you.
Let's Get to Know You
We start with a conversation because great portraits begin long before the camera comes out. We want to know what brought you here, what matters most to you, and how you want to feel when you look at these portraits twenty years from now. We'll talk through everything: location, what to wear, how to include your pets, the portrait products we offer, and pricing. No surprises, no guesswork. Just a relaxed, unhurried conversation where you ask every question on your mind. After decades of guiding families through this process, we know exactly how to make it easy for you.
Your Portrait Session
By the time we arrive at your session, every detail has already been planned. All you have to do is show up and enjoy it. We'll handle the rest, from finding the perfect light to making sure everyone looks their absolute best. With decades of experience working with every age and personality imaginable, we know how to bring out the real you. The biggest compliment we hear most often? "I wasn't expecting to have so much fun."
View and Order
A week or two after your session, we'll project your proofs onto a big screen at the studio where you can see them large, beautiful, and side by side. It makes choosing your favorites easy, and happy tears are completely normal. We'll guide you through every decision so nothing feels overwhelming. Since this is your one opportunity to view your proofs, we ask that all decision makers plan to join us in person. For long-distance clients, we can set up a video conference viewing appointment.
Delivery and Installation
This is our favorite part. When your finished portraits arrive, we'll schedule a delivery and installation appointment so you can see your portraits come to life in your own home. It's a genuinely exciting moment and we love being there for it. Prefer to hang them yourself? That's perfectly fine too. For our long-distance clients, we ship all finished artwork at no additional charge. Every piece is handcrafted from the finest archival materials and backed by a lifetime guarantee. Because portraits don't just decorate a house. They make it a home.

High School Senior Portraits
Your senior's portraits should look like them, not like everyone else's. That's why we take the time to plan every session around who your senior actually is, their personality, their style, and their story. As a husband and wife team, we create an experience that feels comfortable and safe for every senior. And because we guide you through every step of the process, nothing is left to chance. Burton Photography has been named National Senior Portrait Photographer of the Year twice, most recently in 2026. We would love to bring that same dedication to your senior's portraits.
Family Portraits
A Burton Photography family session is planned, relaxed, and genuinely fun from start to finish. With two expert portrait artists at every session, we handle everything so you can simply show up and enjoy the experience. We take care of posing so everyone looks their natural best, we know the most beautiful High Country locations inside and out, and yes, your pets are absolutely welcome.
For families with little ones, we come prepared. Think puppets, silly jokes, songs, and enough goofy tricks to coax the most genuine smiles and laughter out of even the shyest toddler. Parents tell us all the time that watching us work is half the fun. Your only job is to relax and let us do ours.
